Google Pixel 12 Series: Everything We Know About Google’s Next Phones
Google is already working on what could be its next generation of flagship smartphones, the Google Pixel 12 series. Although the Pixel 11 lineup is still new, early leaks are giving us a first look at what Google may be planning for its 2027 phones.
The upcoming Pixel 12 family could include four devices: the Pixel 12, Pixel 12 Pro, Pixel 12 Pro XL, and Pixel 12 Pro Fold. Reports also suggest that Google is testing display changes and developing the phones with Android 18 in mind.
However, Google has not officially announced the Pixel 12 series. Here is everything we know so far, including the expected models, possible display upgrades, software, and release date.
Google Pixel 12 Series: Expected Models
According to early reports, Google may continue offering four flagship phones in its next Pixel lineup.
– Google Pixel 12: The standard flagship phone for everyday users.
– Google Pixel 12 Pro: A premium model with potentially more advanced features.
– Google Pixel 12 Pro XL: A larger flagship phone for users who prefer a big screen.
– Google Pixel 12 Pro Fold: A foldable phone designed for multitasking and a larger display experience.
These model names are based on reported database listings and have not yet been confirmed by Google.
Pixel 12 Display Upgrades Could Be Coming
One of the most interesting Pixel 12 rumours concerns screen resolution.
A recent report based on device listings suggests that Google may change the display resolutions across the upcoming lineup. The most notable potential upgrade could arrive with the Pixel 12 Pro Fold.
The foldable model is reportedly being tested with a higher-resolution inner screen than its predecessor. This could help deliver sharper text, clearer images, and a better viewing experience.
The regular Pixel 12 models may also receive display changes, although the reported resolution figures do not automatically mean that every screen will look better. Brightness, colour accuracy, refresh rate, and overall panel quality will also matter.
For now, these specifications should be treated as early leaks rather than final hardware details.
Android 18 Could Power the Pixel 12 Phones
Software is another important part of the Pixel 12 story.
Early reports suggest that Google’s upcoming phones are being developed with Android 18 in mind. This would fit the expected 2027 launch timeline.
Android 18 could bring new features, performance improvements, privacy tools, and further development of Google’s AI-powered software experience. However, Google has not confirmed which Android version the Pixel 12 phones will ship with or what features they will include.
More information should become available as Android development progresses.
What About the Pixel 12 Camera?
Google’s Pixel phones are popular for their camera processing, portrait photography, and computational photography features. Because of this, camera improvements will likely be an important area of interest for the Pixel 12 series.
At this stage, there are no confirmed Pixel 12 camera specifications that buyers can rely on. Details such as sensor sizes, megapixel counts, optical zoom, and video recording capabilities remain unknown.
Google could focus on improved image processing and AI-powered editing, but those possibilities should not be confused with confirmed features.
Pixel 12 Performance and Battery Life
Performance is another area where fans will expect improvements.
Google may introduce a newer Tensor processor for the Pixel 12 family, potentially delivering better efficiency, faster AI processing, and smoother everyday performance. However, the chipset name, benchmark results, and detailed hardware specifications have not been officially announced.
Battery capacity, charging speed, and battery life are also unknown. It is too early to say whether the Pixel 12 series will offer major improvements in these areas.
Google Pixel 12 Release Date: When Could It Launch?
Google has not announced an official Pixel 12 release date.
If the company follows its recent flagship launch pattern, the Pixel 12 series could arrive around August 2027. This is an estimate based on Google’s previous launch timing, not a confirmed schedule.
More reliable information about the launch event, availability, and preorders should emerge closer to the expected release period.
Google Pixel 12 Price: What Should Buyers Expect?
There is no official pricing information for the Pixel 12 series yet.
The final price will likely depend on the model, storage capacity, regional taxes, and market availability. The Pixel 12 Pro and Pixel 12 Pro XL could occupy the premium flagship category, while the Pixel 12 Pro Fold may cost considerably more because of its foldable design.
Buyers should wait for official pricing before making purchasing decisions.
Should You Wait for the Google Pixel 12?
If you already own a recent flagship phone, waiting for the Pixel 12 could be worth considering if you want to see what Google does next with displays, AI features, cameras, and performance.
However, all current information is based on early reports. Important details about the design, processor, cameras, battery, price, and software features remain unconfirmed.
If you need a new phone now, it may make more sense to compare currently available models rather than wait months for a device whose final specifications are not yet known.
Final Thoughts
The Google Pixel 12 series is already attracting attention, even though its launch is still some time away. Early reports point to four possible models, potential display changes, and Android 18 development.
The Pixel 12 Pro Fold could be particularly interesting if the reported inner-display resolution upgrade becomes part of the final product.
For now, the best approach is to treat these details as rumours and wait for official announcements. As more credible leaks emerge, we should get a clearer picture of what Google’s next flagship phones will offer.
