XPeng has officially opened pre-sales for its new Mona L05 SUV in China. The new electric vehicle combines a spacious five-seat cabin, modern styling, advanced driver assistance technology, and two powertrain options.

The Mona L05 is available as a fully electric vehicle and an extended-range electric vehicle. This gives buyers more flexibility depending on their driving needs.

Pre-sale prices start at 169,800 yuan, or around $25,250. The official launch is scheduled for October 29, 2026. With its long driving range and smart features, the Mona L05 could become an important model for XPeng in China’s competitive electric vehicle market.

XPeng Mona L05 Price and Variants

XPeng has introduced five variants of the Mona L05. Three use fully electric powertrains, while two feature extended-range technology.

Here are the pre-sale prices for each version:

Variant| Pre-sale price
Mona L05 535 Max (EV)| 169,800 yuan
Mona L05 635 Max (EV)| 179,800 yuan
Mona L05 635 Ultra SE (EV)| 191,800 yuan
Mona L05 1310 Max (EREV)| 169,800 yuan
Mona L05 1310 Ultra SE (EREV)| 181,800 yuan

The starting price is approximately $25,250. Prices vary depending on the battery, driving range, and smart driving hardware.

Customers who reserve the vehicle with a 1,000-yuan deposit can receive a 3,000-yuan credit toward the purchase price under the announced pre-sale offer.

The official launch will take place in China on October 29, 2026. International pricing and availability have not been confirmed.

Modern Design and Spacious Interior

The XPeng Mona L05 is a five-seat midsize SUV designed for drivers who want a stylish vehicle with plenty of passenger space.

It measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,636 mm in height. Its wheelbase measures 2,940 mm, helping provide room for passengers in both rows.

The exterior features a wide body, smooth curves, and modern lighting. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors, including silver, white, black, purple, gray, and green.

Inside, the SUV features a large 17.3-inch central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch windshield head-up display. Selected showcased features include a rear entertainment screen and a zero-gravity front passenger seat.

XPeng has also focused on cabin comfort, with soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and a modern dashboard layout.

Battery, Range, and Performance

One of the biggest advantages of the Mona L05 is its choice of powertrains. Buyers can select a fully electric version or an extended-range model.

Fully Electric Versions

The entry-level 535 Max uses a 58.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. It offers a claimed CLTC driving range of 535 km.

The 635 Max and 635 Ultra SE feature a larger 71.1 kWh battery. Both offer a claimed range of 635 km on the CLTC test cycle.

All three electric versions use a single rear-mounted motor with a maximum output of 183 kW, equivalent to approximately 245 horsepower.

The car also supports fast charging, making it easier to add battery power during longer journeys.

Extended-Range Versions

The Mona L05 1310 Max and 1310 Ultra SE combine a 1.5-liter range extender with a 37.2 kWh battery.

These versions offer up to 310 km of claimed electric-only range. With a full battery and a full fuel tank, the combined CLTC range reaches 1,310 km.

This setup allows drivers to complete many everyday journeys using electricity while keeping a fuel-powered range extender available for longer trips.

The advertised figures use China’s CLTC testing standard. Actual range will depend on driving speed, weather, road conditions, and air-conditioning use.

Smart Driving Technology and Safety Features

XPeng is also highlighting the Mona L05’s intelligent driving technology.

The Max variants feature one in-house Turing AI chip, delivering 750 TOPS of effective computing power. They support XPeng’s second-generation VLA Lite driving model.

The more advanced Ultra SE variants use two Turing AI chips, providing 1,500 TOPS of effective computing power and supporting the full second-generation VLA model.

These systems are designed to process road conditions and help the vehicle respond to complex driving situations. However, driver assistance features do not replace the driver’s responsibility to remain alert and in control.

The Mona L05 also includes a suite of active safety functions. XPeng says its development program covers international safety requirements, and the battery pack includes additional protection against impacts and thermal risks.

The SUV comes with DCC adaptive dampers across the lineup to improve ride comfort and handling.

Can the XPeng Mona L05 Compete With Other Electric SUVs?

The Mona L05 enters a crowded Chinese EV market where manufacturers compete on price, range, technology, and interior comfort.

Its key selling points are the combination of a midsize body, a claimed 635 km electric range, and an extended-range option capable of covering up to 1,310 km under the CLTC cycle.

The entry-level price is also the same for the 535 Max electric model and the 1310 Max extended-range version. This gives buyers a choice between a conventional battery-electric setup and a vehicle with an additional range extender.

The Ultra SE variants may appeal to buyers who want more advanced onboard computing for driver assistance.

XPeng will need to demonstrate competitive real-world efficiency, dependable software, and attractive ownership costs to stand out from rival electric SUVs.

Conclusion

The XPeng Mona L05 brings together modern styling, a spacious five-seat cabin, two powertrain choices, and advanced driving technology. Its fully electric models offer a claimed range of up to 635 km, while the extended-range versions promise up to 1,310 km of combined CLTC range.

With pre-sales starting at 169,800 yuan and an official launch scheduled for October 29, 2026, the Mona L05 is an important new addition to XPeng’s vehicle lineup.

Its success will depend on final pricing, customer demand, and how well its features perform in everyday driving. For now, the combination of long range and flexible powertrain options makes it a model worth watching in China’s electric SUV market.
